The fifth work package is structured in two streams. The first stream of the work package is focused on monitoring and evaluating the impact deriving from the experimentation and implementation of different agricultural supply chain models corresponding procurement and risk sharing mechanisms.
The impact evaluation will enable to provide insight into the effect of different supply chain configurations and financial risk sharing instruments into the (i) decision making to engage into value chains, and (ii) variations of welfare of farmers and supply chain actors.
WP5 also serves as the policy engagement arm of the ARISE project, seeking to identify synergies and influence wider debates regarding the use of risk mitigation products and services to insulate food supply chains from climate and weather driven disruptions. As an innovative model for building supply chains that are more resilient to climate and weather threats to production, WP5 will be able to offer insights and policy recommendations based on practical experience.
